VAAGAI SOODA VA REVIEW

VAAGAI SOODA VA MOVIE REVIEW:

The film is set in the year 1966 (Place: Pudukottai)! Veluthampi (Vimal) is an aspiring teacher, he has completed his PUC and awaits a good government job. Velu's only aim in his life is to become a government employee. Reason? Velu's father (Bhagyaraj) has taken a oath (that he will make his son a government employee) infront of his cousins. At this point Velu's father asks him to work for 'Gramiya Seva', a social service programe organised by the state government. A Gramiya Seva, certificate will make the government job easy.
So he joins the organization and gets his first posting in Kaneduthankadu, a remote dry village which is famous for it's bricks. But to Velu's surprise no one in the village is interested to send their children for studies. At the village Velu meets Mathi (Iniya), who later falls in love with him. Apart from all we also have a Zamindar (played by Ponvanna) who treats his village people like slaves. Will the village people ever understand the value of education? Will Velu succeed in educating and solving the problems of people of Kaneduthankadu? Watch out for Vaagai Sooda Vaa which also has some interesting twist and turns in the climax...
